Excelsior II vs Raithby I
Excelsior II fell short.
In the so-called final of the T20 league, Excelsior II needed to beat Raithby I to go through to the final. This was not to be.
Batting first on a tough batting pitch, our guys could only make 86/8 in the 20 overs. This low total was tough to defend and Raithy reached the target in the 15th over.

Excelsior vs Coronations
Another loss and this time it’s against Coronations.
On 22 February, an overcast day, Excelsior CC played against Coronations in the new 30 Over Stellenbosch league. It has been a bad start to this league losing to the unbeaten Coronations team.
Put into bat, Coronations was on the ropes losing 6 wickets for only 57 runs. Excelsior CC’s opening bowling team, N Jacobs (4/18 in 6 overs) and JP Anthony (2/26 in 6 overs) causing the destruction. The Coronations team steadied the boat and reached 144 all out in the 29th over.
The Excelsior CC’s batting line up suffered early and was unable to recover. By the 8th over, 5 wickets fell with the score only on 25 runs. The final total was 77 all out with P Sederman top-scoring with 40 not out in 46 balls.
