The Western Cape has been hit by heavy rain, leaving the teams of the Cape Winelands First Division (South) with no game time. This was not all too bad, at least the boys could watch the Rugby World Cup semi-final matches #rwc2019

Pre-season Mayhem

On the eve of Excelsior II’s first league match total mayhem broke out when the opponents, Franschhoek I, informed the club that their pitch is not in playing condition (apparently Typhoon Hagibis struck). This led to the match been postponed until 13 October at the Idasvalley Sports Ground, the home of Excelsior Cricket.

A few amendments were made to the line-up, but the match will continue as planned.

The line-up is as follows:

  1. Hassan Valentine (c)
  2. Wassiem (wk)
  3. Ali Ras
  4. Aqeel
  5. Sergio Sedeman
  6. Mujaeed Biscombe
  7. Piero Sedeman
  8. Marlin Peters
  9. Cohen Krediet
  10. Chris Williams
  11. Lukmaan Julies
  12. Charles Thorpe
